The Consultant Urologists in Reading established Reading Urology in 2002 and have now moved into their own dedicated premises at 11 Kendrick Road Reading RG1 5DU. The clinic is based in a completely refurbished Edwardian house and is managed by Berkshire Health Limited. It has four consulting rooms, a treatment room, reception area and admin offices spread over two floors with a lift and disabled access. There is plenty of parking on site and also on Kendrick Road.

The facility is certificated by the Care Quality Commission to provide your out-patient treatment and is registered with the Information Commissioners Office as a registered data controller.

There are five consultants, each specialising in their own particular field of excellence, and appointments are offered during the working week including evenings and on Saturday mornings.

Reading Urology carries out its in-patient general anaesthetic theatre work at The Berkshire Independent Hospital where it is supported by the extensive range of medical and surgical services available including three modern well-equipped operating theatres, a high dependency unit and a dedicated ‘continence physiotherapy’ service.

Quality care

Quality careAs a team of specialists our Consultants believe that the best way to deliver quality is by moving from a single-handed approach towards multi-disciplinary care.

Reading Urology Partnership supports the strong belief that high quality Urological care should be delivered by a team of complementary specialists to ensure a high level of clinical governance.

With many years of clinical expertise between them, each consultant in the Partnership is an expert in their sub-specialist area and practises medicine to the highest standards.

Emergency Treatment

Neither the Clinic at Kendrick Road nor The Berkshire Independent Hospital have A&E Departments and in general we are unable to offer emergency treatment.

If your GP has said that you need to be seen urgently and it is within clinic hours (Monday-Friday 9a.m. – 5 p.m.) please call us and we will try and arrange a consultation for you as soon as we are able. However this may not always be possible, and in those circumstances, or if it is outside clinic hours, you should attend Accident & Emergency at The Royal Berkshire NHS Hospital in Reading (or your nearest NHS hospital) without delay. To do otherwise may put your own health at risk.

Once you have been seen as an emergency your treatment can always be transferred to the private sector if appropriate and if you so wish.
